fEATURED VEHICLE: 1982 LAND ROVER SERIES III WITH ADVENTURE TRAILER

"The 1982 Land Rover Series III is more than just a machine. It belongs to a class of Land Rover imbued with many of the classic tropes of the original from 1948. First introduced in 1971, the Series III offered only a few modest improvements over the previous Series IIA. Marking a subtle transition from utilitarian country car to something slightly more refined, the Series III added creature comforts like a padded dash and even a place for a radio. Adding to the driver appointments, the instruments, once centrally positioned, were moved behind the wheel for better visibility. Underneath the body, the Series III received a lower gear set and a Salisbury rear axle. It also retained the iconic inset grille found on the original Series I truck."

FEATURED VEHICLE: 1977 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER

"When it was first presented to the world as a concept in 1967, the Range Rover signaled a significant change of course for the Land Rover brand. Prior to that year the green oval badge was predominantly associated with the utilitarian line of Series trucks, vehicles sold more as tools than conveyances. When Spen King and Gordon Bashford designed the first Range Rover prototype, they could not have known their creation would ascend to such legendary status and be lauded as one of the most celebrated platforms in automotive history. Nor could they have fathomed that their first generation Range Rover would eventually define the Land Rover brand or go largely unaltered for the next two decades."
